Our School
Our Mission
All students at NOVA Community Day School will be offered academic and guidance programs appropriate to their individual needs so that they may find academic and social success in their daily lives in and out of school.
School Highlights
NOVA Opportunity School provides a smaller learning community of about 50 students with smaller class sizes where the staff and teachers know the students by name.
Students are under a watchful eye and provided with guidance and support from administration, teachers, counselors, staff and a network of volunteers.
NOVA provides opportunities for field trips annually.
Most students have the opportunity to return to their home school after one year.
Excellence in Education
- Students will take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) depending on grade level.
- English teachers will be trained in the Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum by Sacramento State (which helps those students going to college and in a career).
- Teachers are trained in Restorative Justice practices.
